Established in 1982, the Japan campus of Temple University (TUJ) is a full-service branch campus that educates students from nearly 70 countries in English in its undergraduate programs, graduate programs (law, business, graduate education), and non-degree programs (continuing education and corporate education). TUJ has increased enrollments significantly in recent years, is financially healthy, and has hired over 20 new full-time faculty members this academic year, with plans for over 10 more for next academic year.


TUJ offers undergraduate programs to a broad mix of over 2,200 Japanese and non-Japanese degree-seeking students who will earn their degrees from Temple University through the Japan campus. Every semester, additional students from Temple’s main campus and other universities converge on our campus for a short-term study abroad experience.


Based in one of the most dynamic cities in the world, we offer thirteen full undergraduate majors ranging from Art to International Business to Psychological Studies. Our faculty and staff is international, with 69 full time faculty joined by experienced administrators and many part-time adjunct faculty from the professions, business and the arts. TUJ holds classes on the U.S. academic calendar with 15-week fall and spring semesters, a well-enrolled 10-week summer semester, and a 3-week May session.


Overview of Positions

TUJ is looking for a pool of professors for possible part-time adjunct teaching positions. This pool will be considered when an opening arises. TUJ offers majors in a variety of undergraduate subjects, including media and fine arts, humanities, arts, social sciences, business, mathematics, and computer science. Faculty are also sought for the General Education Program.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree (terminal degree preferred)
  • Teaching experience at the university level, preferably of undergraduates for a US institution.
  • Instruction is in English and fluency in English is required
