Overview:

 

Yabu Pushelberg is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join our Business Development team. This role is integral to supporting YP’s growth strategy and helping to position Yabu Pushelberg for continued success across global markets.

 

Working closely with the Director of Business Development and senior leadership, the Business Development Coordinator will support a broad range of initiatives, including:

  • Coordination and preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, and presentations.
  • Strategic planning and market positioning;
  • Pursuit of new business opportunities and cultivation of client relationships;
  • Contract administration and management;

 

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the strategic, operational, and client-facing aspects of a leading international design firm. It is ideally suited to an organized, detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication skills and a strong interest in design, business development, and professional services.

 

This position reports to the Director of Business Development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Business Development team in preparing tailored responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other business development opportunities.
  • Develop compelling proposal content, qualifications packages, pitch presentations, and other client-facing materials, with a significant emphasis on writing and editing.
  • Maintain and update marketing collateral, including team biographies, project sheets, presentation materials, databases, and firm profile documents.
  • Conduct market, client, competitor, and project research to support business development initiatives and strategic pursuits.
  • Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking functions alongside senior team members as a representative of the firm.
  • Support client relationship management efforts by maintaining accurate records, tracking opportunities, and coordinating follow-up activities.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Business Development team, including scheduling, travel coordination, expense reporting, and data management.
  • Assist in maintaining business development systems, processes, and reporting to support the team's overall effectiveness.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Passion for design and a genuine interest in business development within the architecture, interior design, hospitality, or related professional services industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in business development, marketing, proposals, or a related role, ideally within a design, architecture, engineering, consulting, or professional services environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional presence and confidence interacting with clients, consultants, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working within a creative, collaborative culture that values initiative, accountability, and transparency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Adobe InDesign.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing proposals, qualifications packages, or pursuit materials within a professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, project databases, and business development reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of the architecture, interior design, hospitality, or luxury sectors is considered an asset.
