About this role

Company Description

At Greencross Kedron, general practice does not sit in a silo.

Here, GP and ECC teams work under one roof, sharing hospital facilities, clinical knowledge and a one-team philosophy. It means our patients benefit from connected care, our vets are surrounded by broader support, and every day offers the kind of variety that keeps clinical life interesting.

We are looking for a GP Veterinarian who loves the rhythm and relationships of general practice, and who is excited by the opportunity to work alongside an experienced emergency team at AEC Kedron.

This is a rare role for someone who wants to stay anchored in GP while growing their confidence, exposure and interest in ECC.

Why Kedron feels different

Greencross Kedron is co-located with AEC Kedron, creating a collaborative hospital environment where teams share resources, facilities and a strong sense of “we are in this together”.

You will be part of a team that values practical support, calm communication and high-quality patient care across both GP and emergency settings. Our GP and AEC teams work closely to help one another, creating a clinic culture built on trust, generosity and shared standards.

Our teams are proficient in stress-free handling, helping pets feel safer, calmer and more supported through every part of their visit. It is one of the ways we bring our care philosophy to life, especially in a hospital environment where patients may arrive anxious, unwell or in pain.

You will have access to hospital-level facilities and equipment, including:

  • Multi-parameter patient monitors
  • In-house laboratory, including PT, APTT and blood gas analysis
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy
  • Digital radiography
  • Support from both GP and ECC colleagues

What your days could look like

This role is best suited to a GP vet who enjoys variety and is open to being involved in cases across both general practice and emergency care.

Your work may include:

  • GP consultations and continuity of care with Kedron clients and their pets
  • Supporting GP procedures and surgical patients pre and post-operatively
  • Assisting with hospital case management and patient discharges
  • Triage and treatment of unwell patients presenting through AEC during the day
  • Working closely with the Vet Director, Head Nurses and wider clinical team
  • Helping shape the role as the GP and ECC teams continue to work even more closely together

Who will thrive here

You will feel at home at Greencross Kedron if you are a vet who enjoys being part of a connected clinical team, communicates clearly, and brings a steady, caring presence to both pets and people.

This role will suit someone who:

  • Loves GP and the client relationships that come with it
  • Has an interest in ECC and wants more exposure in a supported environment
  • Enjoys teamwork, shared problem-solving and learning from others
  • Can move with confidence between consults, procedures and hospital cases
  • Values high standards of care without ego
  • Wants flexibility alongside meaningful clinical variety

Because Greencross Kedron and AEC Kedron work so closely together, this is a role with real variety. Some days may move between GP consults, surgical support, hospitalised patients and emergency presentations. For the right vet, that blend is exactly what makes the opportunity exciting.

What we back you with

We know great care starts with vets who feel supported, trusted and able to keep growing.

At Greencross, you will have access to:

  • Flexible working options to support your lifestyle and family responsibilities
  • Paid parental leave
  • World-class continuing education, including our annual clinical conference, workshops, webinars and external training
  • One week paid study leave in addition to four weeks annual leave
  • Scholarships for high-level education courses
  • Paid AVA membership or annual veterinary registration
  • Heidi AI note taking to help reduce admin
  • Discounts across Greencross Vets, Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and mental health support
  • Relocation support for interstate and international veterinarians, where relevant

How to apply

This is an exciting opportunity for a GP Veterinarian who wants the best of both worlds: the connection of general practice and the clinical energy of ECC, all within one team.
