Your role: 

The Assistant Manager provides direction, maintains operations, and drives results through people development, sales, and growth.   • Assist the General Manager in identifying, screening and hiring the right talent 
  • Lead and coach shop trainers in effective training to ensure retention and minimize employee turnover

  • Plan and execute company training programs
  • Supervise and address team performance


Execution

  • Ensure effective execution of daily operations
  • Maintain oversight of all hourly positions to ensure all company standards are being met
  • Navigate ambiguity, embrace and lead change, and make intentional and strategic decisions
  • Clearly detail and communicate shop performance to the General Manager 
  • Utilize and oversee established systems, tools, and procedures
  • Uphold company standards and norms
  • Coach and uphold Sweet Cow’s standard of cleanliness
  • Ensure optimal product and supply levels through accurate inventory-taking
  • Delegate tasks based on customer flow and necessary action items

Core Responsibilities:

  • Weekly and Daily Planning & Execution: Develop and implement weekly and daily plans, ensuring successful execution and necessary adjustments.
  • Team Development: Lead approved team development initiatives and provide oversight to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
  • Observation & Improvement: Conduct regular observations, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective change.
  • Training & Validation: Lead training and validation processes for the shop, serve as the primary coach and mentor for Shift Leads (SLs), Ice Cream Makers, Production Team members, Trainers, and Scoopers.
  • Team Communication: Facilitate weekly team communication through the weekly scoop and in person.
  • Attendance Management: Uphold the attendance policy by coaching the team and ensuring consistent compliance.
  • Performance Documentation: Prepare and deliver write-ups as needed to address performance issues.
  • Interviewing: Conduct phone screens and initial interviews for prospective new hires.
  • Support to General Manager (GM): Assist the GM with tasks such as roster management, employee orientation, production orders, conducting 1:1 meetings with SLs, Individual Performance Reviews (IPRs), and clock-in audits.  


Shift Requirements:

  • 5 shifts/week (35-38 hours)
  • 3 high revenue shifts (Thursday-Sunday)
  • Weekly: 1 opening shift, 2 mid shifts (one on Fri/Sat/Sun), 2 closing shifts (including one on Fri/Sat)


Eligibility Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Have at least two years of experience in a related service industry
  • Have at least one year of experience delegating tasks to other employees and/or coordinating the tasks of two or more employees
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of a shift
  • Adhere to the written schedule and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Maintain a weekly schedule of 35-38 in-shop hours scheduled based on shop and team needs


Compensation

  • $25.50 per hour ($19/hr + $6.50/hr average in tips)
