Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Refinishing Support Technician to join our team. As an
Automotive Refinishing Support Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to
our automotive refinishing professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations in our refinishing
department, maintaining equipment and materials, and assisting in the refinishing process. This role requires a strong
knowledge of automotive refinishing techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining
high-quality standards we encompass here at Stuckey Automotive
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to automotive refinishing professionals in the use of
refinishing equipment, tools, and materials. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the refinishing
process.
2. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and calibration of refinishing equipment,
including spray guns, paint mixing systems, and drying booths. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or
repair needs.
3. Material Management: Assist in the management and organization of refinishing materials, including paints,
primers, clear coats, and related supplies. Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials in
accordance with safety regulations.
4. Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, masking, and cleaning. Ensure
surfaces are smooth, free of contaminants, and ready for paint application.
5. Paint Mixing and Application: Assist in the preparation and mixing of paints, primers, and clear coats according to
manufacturer guidelines and color specifications. Apply paint materials to vehicles, ensuring an even and smooth
finish.
6. Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of finished paint jobs to ensure they meet quality standards and
customer specifications. Identify and address any imperfections or defects, performing necessary touch-ups or
refinishing as required.
7. Safety Compliance: always Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work
environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures when handling hazardous
materials.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any relevant observations or
issues. Complete documentation related to paint mixing ratios, color formulas, and customer specifications.


1. Experience: Ideally, Minimum of 2 years of hands-on
experience in automotive refinishing, including surface
preparation, paint mixing, and application. Experience
with color matching and blending techniques is highly
desirable.
2. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of refinishing
equipment, tools, and materials. Familiarity with spray
guns, paint mixing systems, and drying booths. Ability to
troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

3. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and the ability
to produce high-quality finishes. Skilled in identifying
imperfections and performing necessary touch-ups or
refinishing work.
4. Safety Consciousness: Commitment to adhering to
safety protocols and guidelines. Familiarity with handling
hazardous materials and proper disposal procedures.
5. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and perform
physical tasks for extended periods. Capable of lifting
heavy objects and working in a demanding environment.

communication skills. Ability to provide clear instructions
and guidance to team members.
