Title: SQL DBA - EAD or GC or USC

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 12 Months+ Contract (Potential for extension)

Job Description:

We are in search of an experienced SQL DBA with 7+ years of experience.

Desired Experience:

• SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2014 experience
• High level knowledge of SQL Server 2016
• Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL Server server software and related products.
• Evaluate SQL Server features and SQL Server related products.
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
• Perform application tuning and performance monitoring.
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).
• Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support, when required.
• Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
• Interface with Microsoft for technical support.
• Good understanding of the SQL Server database, related utilities and tools.
• A good understanding of the underlying operating system.
• A good knowledge of the physical database design.
• Ability to perform both SQL Server and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of ALL SQL Server backup and recovery scenarios.
• A good knowledge of SQL Server security management.
• A good knowledge of how SQL Server acquires and manages resources. (Locking)
• A good knowledge SQL Server data integrity.
• Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems.
• Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle.
• A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning.
• Should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators.
• Should have the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Setting and tuning system parameters.
• Tuning the operating system, network, and transaction processors to work with the database.
• Enabling the database to work with storage devices and storage management software.
• Interfacing with any other technologies required by database applications.
• Installing third-party DBA tools.
• Hands on experience with SQL Server monitoring
