At our hospital, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurses are patient advocates in the truest form. Following complex and rarely seen surgeries, we provide pain management, clinical assessment and vital information for multidisciplinary colleagues. Our PACU units support over 60 surgical suites, among them the nation's first to broadly use Artis Zeego 3-D robotic imaging.

 

When it comes to high-tech, high-risk care, PACU nurses are the critical link to positive outcomes-and respected members of our team. We care for a wide range of patients, including cardio-thoracic, vascular, transplant, neurosurgery, gynecology, oncology, and plastic surgery.

Clinical Nurse Specialist - Pre & Post Op Recovery / PACU - Days

 

Join the passionate nurses of our medical center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, and deliver clinical teaching and support that makes a life-changing difference. Be a well-respected expert at the bedside and work to maintain compliancy with mandates. Lead and inspire by example across Pre & Post Recovery and PACU. This position will work on clinical competencies, process throughput, patient safety rounds, and support orientees from hire through the clinical ladder process. Develop an annual education program and collaborate for quality and safety initiatives practice issues.

 

This is a full time Monday - Friday position. No weekends required. 

 

Key Criteria

 

Qualified candidates have three or more years of acute care RN experience in perioperative, PACU, or critical care units. Masters degree and certification as a Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist is required. Previous experience as a CNS is preferred. The ideal candidate is a team player and has strong communication and assessment skills.

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Are you a board certified Clinical Nurse Specialist? 

SCREENING QUESTIONS

Do you have a New York State RN License?

Do you have at least 3 years acute care experience in the Recovery Room / PACU / Critical Care?

Do you have a Master's of Science in Nursing?

IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Pre & Post Op, Critical Care, PACU.

- Will take a new grad CNS with at least 3 years experience at the RN level. 

- Need someone that understands the flow of the OR and PACU

- Adult certified CNS
