Job Description
1. Develops and manages a proactive approach to plant maintenance by evaluating and improving Preventive Maintenance program processes and procedures.2. Ensures the preventive maintenance program provides adequate service coverage for each piece of equipment to minimize or eliminate unplanned equipment down time.
3. Ensures the equipment has the most up to date control and drive systems
4. Evaluates and determines root cause for unplanned equipment downtime and ensures corrective action is taken to remedy the immediate issue and long term preventive action addresses systemic issues.
5. Ensures the department manning levels are adequate to provide maintenance inspection, repair and continual improvement.
6. Works with production departments to engage the operators in daily and weekly preventive maintenance.
7. Researches and implements techniques used to predict machine failures and incorporate those techniques into the standard operating procedures.
8. Ensures safety of staff, as well as all employees, is a top priority at all times.
9. Ensures all new equipment is incorporated into PR program. Works with facility management to understand the long range capital plans.
10. Manages staff of Supervisors and technicians in a 24/7 operation and continually improves their skill level and effectiveness.
11. Performs other duties, as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education and experience
Experience:
6-8 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role in a capital intensive operation
Communication:
Strong communication skills to receive and convey information, much of it technical in nature
Administration:
Proficient in MS Office applications
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work priorities and planning
Interpersonal Relations:
Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people
Leadership:
Strong leadership and employee development skills
Experience establishing and improving SOPs that drive process
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and relentlessly pursue improvements
Analytical and Conceptual:
Use logic and appropriate methods to solve problems with effective solutions
Strong analytical and statistical skill
Special Skills:
Experience with CMMS systems
Strong experience using lean to continually improve the operation
Dependability - Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required
