Job Description

Caterpillar Inc. has multiple openings on 2nd and 3rd shifts for entry level industrial electricians at the Mapleton, Illinois facility.  This facility hosts a combination of foundry and machining operations.  Successful candidates will receive training and experience a wide variety of process and facilities equipment.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities – Entry Level Industrial Electrician

 

Function in a team environment to enhance electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.

Commit to gain the skills and knowledge needed through hands-on training, experience, and classroom activities to pass skills assessment testing at regular intervals as required.

Demonstrate the commitment to sustaining a safe work environment through proper use of PPE, safe job procedures, and company policies.

Demonstrate the ability to properly diagnose, repair, and test systems as knowledge and experience is gained over time.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Successfully demonstrate basic industrial electrical knowledge by achieving a passing score on a pre-hiring written exam.

Successfully demonstrate basic industrial electrical knowledge by achieving a passing score on a pre-hiring hands-on exam.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

PLC experience and/or training

CNC experience and/or training

VFD experience and/or training

Motor controls experience and/or training

Hydraulic system experience and/or training

HVAC experience and/or training

Troubleshooting skills

Electrical construction experience and/or training

 

Does this describe you?

 

 

Do you have a minimum of 1 year Industrial Electrician experience? 
Do you have tool experience in Electric/Pneumatic Tools, Lift Assists or Torque Wrenches? 
Do you have intermediate/basis skills for machine repair in Electrical and Hydraulics? 
Do you have basic skills in using equipment related to plant manufacturing?

A candidate that has required qualifications as follows:
