Job Description
Gathers, analyzes, interprets, prepares and reconciles the derivative accounting to support the month end close process and preparation of financial statements. Reviews and analyzes contract terms, conditions, accounting source documents and accounting standards to ensure that hedge transactions are appropriately documented and accounted for. Monitors and ensures ongoing hedge compliance through periodic effectiveness testing and exposure updates. Serves as a derivative subject matter expert and training resource and prepares accounting whitepapers on the appropriate accounting for transactions involving derivative instruments. Monitors, analyzes the impact and updates management on the latest derivative activities of accounting standard setters and proposed accounting rule changes. Develops and leads improvement initiatives over internal controls and the derivative process to ensure information is produced accurately and in accordance with accounting standards. Coordinates with auditors and prepares schedules supporting the financial statement and internal control audits. Serve as a liaison between corporate accounting management, corporate treasury and external auditors. Works under minimal direction.
