PTM Environmental Technician/Driver

Reporting to the Operations Manager or to such other person designated by him, the Environmental Technician/ Driver will perform a variety of duties including:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational

• Responsible for collecting and delivery of both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes from company clients while ensuring that all related documentation is accurately completed and properly maintained.
• Primary operator of PTMatic delivery vehicles and drives to deliver goods to destination as assigned.
• Coordinate and assist with the dismantling, collection, stacking and packaging of recyclable materials.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo ensuring that all loads are safely positioned and secured in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
• Record cargo deliveries.
• Responsible for the operator level maintenance and upkeep of assigned PTMatic delivery vehicle to include, but not limited to refuelling, interior and exterior cleaning, and minor preventive maintenance (proper tire inflation, oil levels, windscreen fluid levels, and similar).
• Conduct site and vehicle decontaminations as required.
• Maintain and execute the proper use of personal protection and decontamination equipment.
• Assist with the loading of recyclable material onto containers in preparation for shipment.
• Ensure the proper labelling of waste and containers prior to delivery and shipping.
• Perform other tasks as required by the company from time to time, which may not be strictly limited to driving company vehicles.

• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by maintaining compliance with operational safety, policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Strive to improve safe work practices in line with OHSA.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensures safety equipment is provided as needed to employees, so they may safely perform the duties of their jobs without injury to themselves or others.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & ATTRIBUTES

• Valid C Driving License is mandatory.
• Previous experience in driving commercial vehicles or performing similar operational or environmental. collection duties is an asset.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
• Demonstrated resilience and adaptability to perform effectively under supervision in operational sites where discipline, safety, and teamwork are essential.
• Basic understanding of waste handling procedures, recycling processes, and safety protocols.
• Good command of English (both spoken and written); Maltese will be considered an asset.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
