Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Monitor inpatient and intermediate level of care services related to mental health and substance abuse treatment to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness. Provide telephone triage, crisis intervention and emergency authorizations as assigned. In conjunction with providers and facilities, develop discharge plans and oversee their implementation Perform concurrent reviews for inpatient care and other levels of care as allowed by scope of practice and experience. Provide information to members and providers regarding mental health and substance abuse benefits, community treatment resources, mental health managed care programs, and Health Services policies and procedures, and criteria.

Qualifications

Requirements/Certifications:
This is a TEMP-TO-PERM position.
The typical day consist of managing up to 120 incoming calls/day. The calls are feed through by the customer care team and they are from members or providers. Examples of call consist of assessments, crisis intervention, members looking for providers in their area and provider calls discussing references or benefits, etc. The calls on average are about 5 to 30 minutes long depending on the nature of the call. There are call expectations like # of calls per day, length of calls, etc. The selected candidate will have strong attention to details, assessment and crisis management skills. The manager is looking for candidates with more facility bases care, such as experience with the county or state, hospitals and in home travel therapy. Must be able to type and talk at the same time. Must be flexible and comfortable with change.Β 

Hours 8:30 – 5
Required license: LCPP or LCSW
Training: 2 weeks of classroom training and then 2 – 3 weeks of side-by-side and shadowing.
Team: Consist of about 12 people.
The manager will conduct a face-to-face interview.
