Job Description

Position: Data Analyst

Duration: 1+ Year

Location: Corning, NY

Direct client: Immediate interview

Day-to-Day Duties
• Finance

- Create and manipulate data in reports from the Directorate Forecasting and Planning tools to assist with monthly reporting

Resolve questions via use of tools and corporate finance systems
Ensure targets are updated and maintained in tool

• Accounting
- Capital Maintenance
- Maintain Depreciation Model (once implemented by manager) to have on-going tally of depreciation expense projections.
- Ensure items are capitalized into the correct departments and Functions labeled in the “custodian” field
- Maintain folder with information related to ARs/ Capital for staff reference.
- Complete Asset Inventory Control – Annual Audit; Asset transfers & tagging/ location documentation
- Open, change and close projects in PeopleSoft (SSEC) to enable/ prevent charges to be applied. Maintain log to ensure completion of requests. This work is heaviest in December – January.
- Complete journal transfers as required between projects
- Move Directorate towards standardized activity codes to enable data analysis of spending categories (e.g., travel, capital, line time, and other expense)
- Evaluate and address issues on charges related to Travel, Projects and AP Vouchers
- Review Space reports for accuracy and address issues with space/asset owners.
- Review Storage reports for cost savings opportunities and address.
- Review IT reports to ensure accuracy and address issues

Miscellaneous ( based on capability and need):
- IP Stats Report
- NDA Log Maintenance
- SPITS Maintenance
- Purchase Orders
- Technology Strategy:
Assist with Technology Strategy presentation builds

• Obtain/ manipulate data for charts/ graphics
• Update presentations
- Provide support in the clean-up and re-organization of Directorate folders/ files in support of system optimization

Education: 2 year degree is preferred
Experience: 2-5 of data manipulation; database queries
