• Prepare invoiced that will go to LIPA

• Track down individual invoices and provide evidence that they've been paid 

• Possibility of being converted to project employee 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance 

• 5 years of financial experience 

• Experience with SAP a plus 

• Experience doing FEMA invoicing a plus 

• Need experience doing regulatory reporting

Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Budgeting and Planning, this position is responsible for providing an accurate and timely monthly detailed reporting package of costs incurred and paid for services, and its outside contractors, on 320 Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) funded electrical system storm-hardening projects. Will work closely with Plant Accounting, Payroll, Operations, Project management and Planning and Budgeting. 

• Ensure all contractors have systems and procedures in place to provide detailed invoices to LIPA including, but not limited to, detailed time sheet reporting.

• Ensure vendor billing to LIPA is timely and accurate and conforms to requirements enforced by FEMA.

• Obtain financial information from Corporate SAP system of costs charged to projects on a monthly basis.

• Develop clear and accurate scheduled by cost type of all costs incurred and paid

• Obtain back up documentation for all costs, including Labor, Outside Services, Affiliate Charges, and other expenses

• Prepare report/invoice in a clear and structured manner for submission of all information to LIPA.

Qualifications

Job Requirements Minimum Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, Accounting or Finance 

Minimum Experience/Skills: 

• Minimum five (5) years of financial analysis or general accounting experience. 

• Demonstrated knowledge in accounting, budgeting, financial practices, and regulatory compliance Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data. 

• Experience with SAP a strong plus

• Experience with FEMA reporting a plus

• Demonstrate advanced experience with Excel, MS Word, and computerized automated accounting software systems. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to deal with staff, managers, executives.
