Job Description

Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Raritan NJ

Job Description and Responsibilities :

• This position will be responsible for day-to-day network and telecomm operations (Incident Management, Problem Management, Sev1’s, escalations) in the NA region. 

• The role will entail applying deep technical knowledge to help manage outsourced vendors in all aspects of Operations.

• Additional responsibilities include process development, network Risk Management and involvement in base business network projects 

Responsibilities:

• Support of network and telecomm Operations (Incident Management, Problem Management, Sev1’s, escalations) in the North American region

• Process development and review for network and telecomm domains

• Risk Management – help log, prioritize and drive remediation of Risks in the environment

• Support of network base business projects

Education:

Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science or related field of study. An advanced degree desired 

Experience:

10+ years professional experience supporting a large network and telecomm environment. 

Other Skills & Certifications :

• Strong technical knowledge in the areas of data networking, IP Telephony and TDM voice technologies. This includes firewalls, load balancers, WAN acceleration, and proxies 

• Experience developing, reviewing and refining Operational processes 

• Ability to work with outside vendors, agencies or organizations 

• Ability to drive Incidents to resolution through management of support vendors 

• Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast paced environment 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills 

• Strong Problem Management skills 

• Provide coaching and guidance to peers, junior team 

• Budgeting experience 

• Ability to quickly prioritize tasks 

• Decision Making/Problem Solving Skills 

• Experience working in a regulated environment 

• Ability to take ownership and manage requests, problems and opportunities with a sense of urgency and under pressure 

• Knowledge of ITIL framework- certifications desired 

• Advanced Cisco Certifications highly desirable – CCNP / CCDP / CCIE preferred

Qualifications

Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science or related field of study. An advanced degree desired
