Job Description

The Wind Tunnel is central to Williams' aerodynamic development programme, and this role sits right at the heart of it. As part of the Wind Tunnel Engineer group, you'll be responsible for running tests to the highest possible standard, following test lists provided by the Duty Aerodynamicist, liaising with modelmakers to keep model changes and runs seamless, and reviewing data quality in real time to ensure conclusions are valid.

You'll be the first port of call for any facility issues, investigating, resolving where you can, and maintaining excellent communication throughout. Beyond the test day itself, you'll play an active role in facility maintenance, contribute ideas for improving test methodologies and capabilities, and form part of the out-of-hours support network.

This is a hands-on role that rewards technical curiosity, a proactive mindset, and someone who takes real pride in keeping things running at their best.

Skills and experience:

  • Rigorous approach to data review,Β spotting issues early and feeding back clearly
  • Keeps detailed records of all facility activity, issues, and resolutions
  • High standards across model instrumentation, mechanical assemblies, and facility configurations

About you:

You're technically capable and naturally curious, the kind of engineer who wants to understand how things work and isn't afraid to get stuck in when something needs fixing. You take quality seriously, whether that's the data coming off the tunnel or the state of the facility itself.

You work well under pressure, communicate clearly, and you're someone people can rely on, especially when things don't go to plan. You're flexible, self-motivated, and you understand the importance of confidentiality in an F1 environment.

Most importantly, you bring a positive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to something that matters on track.

  • Excellent communicator, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
