About this role

The Opportunity:


In this role you will be responsible for overall financial management of projects throughout their lifecycle by ensuring proper set up, maintenance, invoicing, project closure and documentation in accordance with the contractual requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and with BluMetric’s controls, policies and practices. This is an existing vacancy within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Accounting management of a portfolio of projects including:
    • Ensuring each project is setup in the accounting system (Deltek Vantage Point, and CRM) in accordance with the client contract and IFRS 15 requirements.
    • Updating project information for contract changes;
    • Collaborating with Project Managers to accurately generate Customer invoices;
  • Ensuring timely project close out procedures.
  • Conduct monthly project performance review with Project Managers and Accounting team in regards to the work in progress, project status, budgets, provisions and percentage of completion analysis.
  • Participate in month end and quarter end financial reporting tasks including booking journal entries, preparing account schedules.
  • Build strong relationships with, and serve as a trusted advisor to, our internal business partners including Project Managers and other project staff, as well as assist and collaborate with other Finance and Accounting team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service and a customer-centric focus, while providing a quality of work that consistently meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Support management in completing special projects, analysis requests and other tasks as assigned; and
  • Proactively look for innovative processes and project accounting improvements.



Key Qualifications, Skills, & Education:


  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting preferred and 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Takes ownership of all tasks and works with autonomy.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship building skills are a key asset.
  • Strong communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at all levels, to articulate ideas, and to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, and xlookups).
  • Adaptable to thrive in a fast-paced highly transactional environment.
  • Experience with IFRS 15 and revenue recognition is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ERP software, in particular, Deltek VantagePoint and CRM is an asset.
