About this role

Company Description

The community of Eskasoni is seeking a family physician to join their primary care team providing coverage to the 48 residents of a newly built Long-Term Care facility.

Eskasoni First Nation is the largest Mi’kmaw community in Nova Scotia where community members are well versed in their culture and language. It is also home to Eskasoni Goat Island home of Eskasoni Cultural Journeys known for its tourism. Eskasoni is conveniently located in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM). The CBRM is the second largest municipality in the province of Nova Scotia. With a population of approximately 115,000, Cape Breton Island is known for its rich Celtic culture and stunning scenery. You will find an island of magnificent natural beauty yet very modern. We host an array of shops, restaurants, golf courses, entertainment and amenities including an airport, with direct flights to Toronto and Montreal. In addition, the region remains young, diverse and vibrant as it is the home to Cape Breton University, the location for the new Dalhousie Medical Campus opening in 2025!

Job Description

Providing care to 48 residents at the Eskasoni Long Term Care facility.

10 hours/week. Compensation is a sessional arrangement. Annually, estimated $6000.
