Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career within Government Relations? Are you motivated and have strong communication skills? If so, you may be the perfect fit for the Analyst, Temp Services – Graduate Public Policy Research Associate position at Walmart!

In this position, you will be a temporary associate (internal) working to provide research, logistical, and strategic support for the Walmart Policy Lab and the Global Policy Team. The Walmart Policy Lab is an incubator of ideas at the intersection of the public, private and non-profit sectors aimed at operationalizing Stakeholder Capitalism.  We are looking for one summer temporary associate, from June to August, for a total of 10 weeks, 40 hours/week.

About Global Public Policy: The Global Public Policy (GPP) team at Walmart, based in Bentonville, AR, and Washington, DC, is responsible for identifying risks and opportunities in the public policy space with the goals of maintaining and expanding the company’s license to operate; creating opportunity for our 2.2 million associates; serving millions of customers across the globe; building shared value in the communities we serve; and protecting and enhancing Walmart’s reputation.

Location: This position will be fully onsite in Washington, D.C.

You’ll make an impact by…

• Engaging in public policy research with internal and external partners
• Securing advocacy opportunities and logistics for engagements
• Submitting diverse written reporting to Walmart executives
• Carrying out stakeholder mappings in key issue areas
• Contributing to complex and time-sensitive deliverables and programs
• Managing stakeholder engagement and outreach

You’ll sweep us off our feet if…

• You have an M.A. in public policy or international affairs candidate preferred
• You have relevant globally oriented work experience in business or international relations for private sector, government, NGOs, trade associations, or similar
• You have experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships with trust and integrity
• You have excellent research and communication skills
• You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualifications

BA in social science, government, international relations, or business
