Position SummaryĀ 

TheĀ FinanceĀ Manager has primary responsibility for serving as the main contact for the day-to-day accounting functionĀ for BPMĀ including full-cycle accounting, financial statements preparation, audit/990Ā assistanceĀ and grant reporting. This position reports toĀ our CFO and the CEO. This position oversees the AP/AR Specialist and works closely with other senior managers at BPM.Ā 


Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • ACHĀ processing,Ā bankĀ accountĀ and credit card reconciliationsĀ 
  • Accruals and other related journal entries associated with theĀ month-end closeĀ 
  • Maintenance of fixed asset schedulesĀ and monitoring of capital expenditures activityĀ 
  • Preparation ofĀ reconcilingĀ schedules supportingĀ theĀ financial statementsĀ Ā 
  • Compilation ofĀ monthly financials and forecastsĀ 
  • Creation and tracking of annual budgetsĀ 
  • Preparation ofĀ board meeting materialsĀ 
  • AssistanceĀ with personnel and business insuranceĀ 
  • Annual charitable registrationĀ and other corporate filings,Ā regulator/grantor compliance reporting, and tracking of revenues and expenditures associated with grantsĀ 
  • Participation in year-end audit,Ā regulatoryĀ and 990 filingsĀ 
  • Generating annual 1099 forms and 1096 reportĀ

QualificationsĀ 

  • MinimumĀ sixĀ yearsĀ of directly applicable experienceĀ 
  • Full-cycle accounting – A/R, A/P, balance sheet reconciliations, reports compilationĀ 
  • Supervisory experience, including interfacing with various departments/functionsĀ 
  • Foster a collaborative team spirit based on mutual respectĀ 
  • Able to lead by example, delegate respectfully and make sound independent decisionsĀ

Educational Requirements:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting or FinanceĀ 
  • CPA-track is a plusĀ

Technical Requirements:Ā 

  • StrongĀ proficiencyĀ in MS Office Suite and 365. Demonstrated experience in ExcelĀ 
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks OnlineĀ Ā 

Ā 

Preferred Qualifications:Ā 

  • Public broadcasting and/or community media (e.g.,Ā radio, digital, TV) experienceĀ 
  • One or more years of public accounting experienceĀ 
  • Familiarity with project and/or people managementĀ 
  • Past interaction with nonprofits and an understanding of mission-based organizationsĀ
