Tack Truck Driver – Local CDL (Home Daily) + Full Benefits

Baldwin Paving Company is seeking CDL Drivers to join our paving team in a full-time, local role. Drivers are home every night and only travel within a 75-mile radius of Atlanta.

This is a safety-sensitive position operating in active roadway construction environments.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position operating on 8- to 12-hour shifts based on project demands.
• Flexibility is required. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Work hours vary seasonally and may include early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends depending on paving schedules, weather conditions, and production needs.

• Day shifts during cooler months
• Night shifts during warmer months

 Essential Functions:

• Operate tack truck safely in roadway construction environments
• Apply asphalt tack/emulsion using spray equipment
• Load, transport, and unload heated materials (up to approximately 300°F)

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues

• Support paving crew operations as needed
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety procedures

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid Class B CDL with Tanker (N) endorsement
• Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience required
• Tack truck experience preferred (training available for qualified candidates)
• Must meet FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements. We require all applicants to have a clean record in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. 
• Must meet company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards and FMCSA safety requirements
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and comply with FMCSA random drug and alcohol testing requirements. 
• Must consent to FMCSA Safety Performance History review with previous DOT-regulated employers
• Strong safety and attendance record
