Security Guard (Full Time Temporary) - Toronto

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

This posting is for an upcoming vacancy, from 15 June 2026 to 15 November 2026 (Temporary).

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Conduct regular patrolling of assigned premises to ensure safety and security of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Maintain strong vigilance and situational awareness to identify and respond to suspicious activities or security risks.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems to detect incidents, document observations, and report concerns promptly.
• Provide professional customer service by assisting visitors, answering inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain strict privacy and security protocols.
• Perform access control duties by verifying identification, authorizing entry, and preventing unauthorized access.
• Escort visitors, contractors, and staff safely within the premises while ensuring compliance with security procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• *MUST* Ontario Security Guard License
• *MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
• *MUST* Have the ability to obtain Level II Secret Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
• Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently), ability to speak French is consider an asset
• Excellent customer service and reception skills
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to complete frequent patrols
  

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Position Type: Full time (5 months contract)
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.93
• Location:  121 King Street West, Toronto
• Hours of work:  Multiple Shifts

                                     Monday-Friday 0600-1400 

                                          Monday-Thursday 1400-2200, Friday 1400-2000 Hours

                                          Sunday-Thursday 2200-0600
