Job Title:         Psychotherapist/Psychologist

Location:         Based at Hillcrest Shifnal School, with travel to surrounding sites

Salary:             up to £52,000 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

Hours:             22.5 - 37.5 hours per week 

Contract:         Permanent

About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Psychotherapist/Psychologist to join our Clinical Wellbeing team based at Hillcrest Shifnal School in Shropshire, working across a selection of residential care and education settings in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Staffordshire (specific settings to be discussed and agreed). The post holder will work collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our children and young people. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as they expand their clinical provision, making a real difference and implementing a holistic, therapeutic approach. This post is a permanent position.

The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be required to deliver one-to-one and group sessions, as well as facilitating reflective practice groups and consultation to staff teams. They will be a key contributor to the bespoke assessment and intervention plans designed for our children and young people, providing advice, information and training to other members of staff in the clinical/wellbeing team, multi-professional teams, commissioners, and other agencies.

Location: Hillcrest Shifnal School, Shropshire as base, working across a selection of residential care and education settings in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Staffordshire. The possibility of our Stoke site being a second base can be considered on request.

Hillcrest Shifnal School provides education for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 with a range of SEMH needs.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant qualification in Psychotherapy or Psychology
  • Registered with BACP, HCPC or equivalent
  • Previous experience of paid or voluntary work within a trauma or complex needs setting
  • Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities
  • UK driving licence, with access to a car is desirable
  • Ability to work independently as agreed under supervision
  • Experience of multi-professional work teams or services within designated speciality
