Job Description

The Network Production Planner is responsible for inventory, capacity and production planning leveraging lean principles for continuous process improvement. This includes resolving complex capacity challenges and the identification of opportunities with significant cost impacts. The position is the primary contact for sector manufacturing leadership, Category Business Teams (CBT), production plants, co-manufacturers and international supply chain for the management of inventory and production planning of their asset class or category. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the full scope of plant supply planning activities (i.e. shutdowns, ramp-ups, experimental runs). 

  • Develop short- and long-term supply plans to balance the demand forecast with cost, efficiency and capacity constraints. 
  • Develop and communicate item/weekly master schedule that meets category supply policies. 
  • Optimizes the flow of product through the supply chain. 
  • Conducts ongoing development of inventory strategies to determine cost-effective use of inventory investment while maximizing inventory turns and meeting service level targets. 
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to reduce costs and improve cash flow. 
  • Actively participate in the creation of supply policies for BU and category (includes CFR, inventory, capacity planning, sourcing). 
  • Establish & maintain system planning parameters that support category supply policies. 
  • Identify and surface any gaps/exceptions to supply policies including proposed remediation options & recommendations 
  • Coordinate product supply remediation activities and root cause analytics on service & inventory defects for assigned categories 
  • Actively support category portfolio commercialization processes including leading supply chain strategies for new items and discontinued items/production facilities/network changes. 
  • Participates as a planning representative on cross-functional project teams. 
  • Participates in & initiates supply chain continuous improvement projects 
  • Work in close partnership with National Fulfillment Planners and Plant Schedulers to ensure key KPIs are met. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management 
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent required - preferably in supply chain, operations, engineering or related discipline. 
  • Planning and master scheduling experience 
  • Manugistics/SAP or other ERP/APS software experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel- vlooks ups, pivots) required. 
  • Has strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing environments. 
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills 
  • A self-starter capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing their workload while working to agreed schedules and tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrated problem solver with systems savvy 
  • APICS certification preferred 
  • Lean/6 Sigma experience preferred
