The Distribution Planning Manager is responsible for power distribution and planning.
Job Description
Functions:
- Undertake short and long range power system planning on distribution and sub-transmission systems
- Undertake research, planning and feasibility studies to establish project justification
- Forecast load growth by areas
- Drive transmission planning activities
- Monitor system reliability, performance and recommend process improvements
- Prepare and track budgets for system expansion
- Review field engineer designs for consistency and proper application of design guidelines and standards
- Provide technical support and advisory in developing RFPs for consultants and awarding contracts
- Performing distribution circuit analysis for loading, voltage, reactive power, reliability, balancing and coordination
- Provide technical support to various internal customers and to the systems operation control center
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Minimum of a 1st degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years professional level engineering experience
- Knowledge of distribution systems design
- Experience in distribution systems planning and design, distribution protection schemes, power systems analysis, operations engineering, and/or electrical secondary networks planning is preferred
