Cyber Security Team Lead

Company Description

Contract to Hire (6 months)

Pay: up to 130K  Role perm and $55/hr - $65/hr on contract) 

Location: Germantown, MD (needs to plan to be onsite and 1 day a week remote after a few months

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Required

• CISSP certification required 

Special Skills/Knowledge:

• 7-10 years cyber security experience in federal government

• Must have hands-on experience in cyber/network products and operating systems e.g. installation and configuration of enterprise level software

• Significant experience with NIST Certification and Accreditation

• Significant experience with McAfee ePO and all McAfee enterprise products. Knowledge in Symantec enterprise security products is also preferred

• Significant experience with Tenable Security Center and Nessus

• Significant experience in vulnerability scanning and providing remediation recommendations

• Knowledge with Splunk, Metasploit is nice to have

• Experience with intrusion prevention devices (IPS) or intrusion detection devices (IDS) both network and host based

• Incident response and root cause analysis is nice to have

• Experience with security baseline specifications (CIS, USGCB) and Federal government NIST SP 800 series recommended practices

• Exceptional analytic and problem solving skills

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking; DNS and Active Directory

• Prefer significant and/or advanced knowledge but does not require hands-on knowledge in the following areas:

o Securing Windows 7 or newer Microsoft operating systems

o Securing Windows Servers including Active Directory

o Securing Microsoft back-end products including SQL server, Exchange server, SharePoint Portal services, ISA, IIS, SCCM, WSUS, etc.

• Expertise in Cyber Security with respect to Federal IT security (NIST, FISMA, OMB)

Related Work Experience:

• Experience working with ticketing systems and help desk tools

• Excellent ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Excellent ability to work in a remote team environment a must

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent people skills are required
