About this role

Join Our Team as a Solutions Engineer!

Cyclone's team in Auckland is growing and we're looking for another experienced consultant to provide technical design, issue resolution and project delivery. This role reports directly into the Auckland Services Manager and is responsible for maintaining customer's on-prem and cloud infrastructure, and for working across our services, software and sales specialists to ensure the successful management of client's IT systems.

About the role

You'll conduct discovery and pre-sales, working closely with our sales team, and will draft and deliver presentations, demonstrate company products, and create customised solutions. You'll take ownership of customers' environments, define their roadmaps and deliver successful projects. You'll also contribute to the development of national service standards by working with peers and readily sharing your knowledge with junior team members to build our collective capability and a culture of continuous improvement. 


What you will do

Ultimately, your role is to ensure customers achieve their business outcomes through the provision of excellent technical solutions. Your primary responsibilities will also include:

  • Delivery of services for implementations including pre-sales, requirement analysis, project delivery, and ongoing support.
  • Analyse and provide solutions to complex technical problems to ensure ICT performance outcomes meets service level requirements.
  • Collaborate on resolving complex technical problems and investigating the root cause of problems.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and mentor their technical and professional skills. 
  • Develop and foster positive relationships while delivering second to none outcomes to Cyclone’s customers.


What you will bring

You’ll be hungry to learn, have excellent planning and organisation skills, be detail orientated and take satisfaction from completing assigned work to a high standard. We expect our Engineers to have a can-do attitude, while going over and above to help our customers use the right technology solution for their needs as well as:

  • Experience writing SoW’s, High Level Design, Detailed Design, RFP's and As Built documents from both a technical and a business perspective.
  • You have previous experience at a consultant level with a broad generalist skillset and you will have kept up to date on the latest technologies.
  • A strong background with infrastructure architecture from design to implementation.
  • Recent MSP experience is viewed favourably.
  • Experience working cross functionally in teams spanning departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
