      Job Opportunity: Mechanical Design Project Leader (Robotics & Automation with Fameccanica in Boston Hub (Middleton, MA)

      Fameccanica North America is launching a new Robotics & Automation Engineering Hub just north of Boston, and we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Project Leader to help build it.

      This is a rare chance to join a small, high-impact team at the ground level. You’ll help shape project execution, system design, and team operations—while benefiting from the support of a global organization with proven technology, established customers, and existing production infrastructure.

      What You’ll Do

      • Lead mechanical design for robotics and automation projects
      • Coordinate engineering work across mechanical, electrical, and software teams
      • Manage projects from concept and design through build, testing, and delivery
      • Support assembly and testing by troubleshooting design issues in real time
      • Help develop project plans, schedules, and technical proposals
      • Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
      • Join client discussions, design reviews, and key project milestones

      Qualifications

      What You Bring

      • 5-10 years of mechanical design experience in automation, robotics, or machinery
      • Experience leading or coordinating technical projects
      • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or similar)
      • Ability to balance hands-on design work with project leadership
      • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment
      • Clear communication across teams, functions, and, at times, with clients
