About this role

Who We Are

EdgeBeam is the world’s first Hybrid Network Operator (HNO)—a foundational layer at the edge enabling one-to-many data distribution for today’s wireless networks. We create & sell wireless services and solutions that solve edge connectivity challenges to connect people, data & devices through the untapped potential of broadcast networks.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on engineering contributor to support prototype development, system integration, and lab operations for hybrid connectivity devices. This role is highly interdisciplinary, bridging hardware, software, and network configuration to enable rapid experimentation and validation of new concepts.

You will work closely with embedded, network, and systems teams to bring up early-stage devices, maintain lab environments, and support proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives. This role is critical to accelerating development cycles and ensuring that new ideas can be tested, validated, and transitioned into production systems efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Support prototype development by assembling, configuring, and validating early-stage hardware and software systems
  • Perform chassis and device construction, including physical assembly, wiring, and integration of components
  • Maintain and organize lab environments, ensuring systems are operational, documented, and available for testing and development
  • Configure and manage Airchain systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of data flows
  • Develop working familiarity with internal codebases and system architectures to support:
    • Documentation
    • Testing workflows
    • Internal development projects
  • Participate in relevant standards activities, contributing to alignment with industry specifications and internal implementations
  • Provide proof-of-concept (PoC) support, enabling rapid experimentation, demo readiness, and technical validation
  • Assist in system bring-up and debugging, working across hardware, firmware, and networking layers
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate prototype learnings into scalable solutions

What You Bring

  • Experience with basic CAD tools and 3D printing, enabling rapid prototyping and iteration of physical components
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and general programming concepts for automation, testing, and tooling
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems administration, including command-line usage and system configuration
  • Familiarity with virtual machines (VMs) and development environments, particularly Proxmox and Docker/Kubernetes respectively
  • Understanding of core IT and networking fundamentals, including:
    • IP networking concepts
    • VLAN configuration
    • Multicast traffic and distribution
  • Experience with command-line interfaces (CLIs) across networking and Linux systems
  • Hands-on experience with physical cabling and hardware setup in lab or field environments
  • Ability to use network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark to analyze and debug system behavior
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work across hardware and software boundaries
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, experimental environments with evolving requirements
  • An AI first mindset and an ability to solve and implement using AI
