About this role


NextGen Technologies is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter/Technician to join our commercial service department in North Charleston, SC. This position focuses on the inspection, testing, maintenance, and service of wet, dry, and specialty sprinkler systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and maintain commercial sprinkler systems and fire pumps in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Operate sprinkler controls, alarm panels, and critical system components.
  • Document inspections and service reports using electronic reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate necessary repairs with customers and team members.
  • Respond to service calls, troubleshoot issues, and correct them accordingly.
  • Provide after-hours emergency support as required on a rotated schedule.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on commercial fire sprinkler system experience; pipe fitting skills are a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of fire safety codes and standards.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces or extreme weather conditions.
  • NICET I certification is preferred; however, we will provide support for candidates to obtain this certification.
  • Be able to work independently and with a team.
  • Adherence to standard safety protocols and a willingness to learn.
