Job Description
Reports To: Design Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Purpose: Provide material list and structural design for building projects
Construction Estimator Principal Accountabilities
- Analyze and interpret information to meet or exceed requirements of local municipality design standards
- Process supplied information that results in correct and efficient structural design of building projects in a timely manner
- Verify all provided information is in correct format for efficient manufacturing of building projects
Construction Estimator Responsibilities
- Review and acclimate yourself to building project plans and specifications
- Input information into MITEK software to provide accurate solutions
- Develop correct formats for end users (layouts, batching, material list, point-of-sale export, etc.)
- Upload project information to correct data storage location for future reference
Construction Estimator Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to communicate design aspects in simplified format to customers or end users
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD software and 3D modeling
- Working knowledge of residential building principles
- Intermediate math skills to include geometry
- General understanding of load development
- Ability to read and understand building plans
- Possess strong attention to details
Construction Estimator Experience
- 1-3 years working with Microsoft Office, CAD and/or 3D modeling software
- 6 months of proven customer service experience
