About this role

Our client has been developing standard software solutions for ports, port terminals, and logistics service providers for 30 years. Their customers include renowned names such as the Port of Aqaba, BASF, Bayernhafen Group, Port of Beirut, and many more. They digitize operational processes at over 50 locations, making them the market leader in port and terminal management solutions.

About the role:

Own a defined portfolio of existing customers for our procurement solutions. Focus on strong relationships, clear intake and specification of change requests, self-directed coordination with Delivery, and customer-facing demos and workshops. Coding is not required—what matters is a solid technical understanding (high-level software architecture, integrations, data flows) and strong written communication. You are the reliable liaison between the customer and Engineering

Key responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for assigned procurement customers; drive topics, timelines and outcomes with ownership.
  • Change Requests: capture and refine requirements (use cases, acceptance criteria), coordinate quoting and delivery, track through customer acceptance.
  • Technical liaison: clarify functional/technical details with Engineering; review specs for clarity; read or sketch simple high-level architecture/flow diagrams (e.g., data flows, API sequences).
  • Presales & enablement: run demos, workshops, and short user guides/how-tos.
  • Ticket and escalation management: prioritize, set expectations, and communicate transparently (e.g., via Jira/Confluence).
  • Support expansion within existing accounts (modules/CRs), maintain a concise personal forecast pipeline, and provide regular internal status updates.
  • Documentation: write clear specifications, decision notes, and clean handovers to Delivery.

  • Fluent German, written and spoken. Solid English.
  • 2+ years in Account Management, Customer Success or Consulting in B2B software (ideally Procurement/Source-to-Pay/RFQ/RFP).
  • Strong ownership, structured working style, and reliable stakeholder communication.
  • High-level technical understanding: modern software architectures (e.g., client/server, web- and API-based systems, on-prem vs. hosted), integration patterns and data flows; comfortable collaborating with Engineering (user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Practical use of AI tools in daily work (e.g., document condensation, ticket summaries, research, analyses).
  • Tools: Jira/Confluence, MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany; regular presence in Mülheim (hybrid)

Nice to have

  • Experience with procurement processes (S2P, RFx, approval workflows).
  • Ability to read or roughly sketch simple diagrams/models (sequence/flow diagrams, high-level ER overviews).
  • Ability to read SQL result sets (to validate lists/reports).
  • Exposure to on-prem customer environments at user/project level (no admin responsibility).

  • A key role with visible impact on customer satisfaction and project success.
  • Short decision paths, real ownership, professional team.
  • Hybrid work and flexibility within the role.
  • Individual development.
