Statistician (Quantitative Modeling & Simulation)

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually
Position Overview
The Statistician is responsible for designing, developing, and validating a Monte Carlo–based odds simulation model. This role applies advanced statistical modeling and quantitative analysis to predict outcomes based on defined parameters, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and practical usability within a production environment.
This position works closely with the development team to integrate statistical models into the platform and support data-driven decision-making.
This is a full-time, fully remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Monte Carlo simulations to model probabilistic outcomes
- Develop quantitative and statistical models based on defined parameters and assumptions
- Validate model accuracy through testing, back-testing, and sensitivity analysis
- Analyze large datasets to refine model inputs and improve predictive reliability
- Document modeling logic, assumptions, and methodologies clearly
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate models into the platform
- Translate complex statistical outputs into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Monitor model performance and recommend improvements over time
- Apply best practices in statistical rigor, reproducibility, and data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Quantitative Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 4–8 years of experience in statistical modeling, quantitative analysis, or simulation-based work
- Strong experience with Monte Carlo methods and probabilistic modeling
- Proficiency in statistical or programming tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar
- Experience working with large datasets and computational models
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
