Reports to: Rentals Manager and/or Store Manager (in each location)
Contract Term: Exact dates TBC - October/November, 2026 - April 2027
Salary: ¥2,200 per hour, starting

The Role
As the Rental (Ski +Snowboard) Supervisor, you will be essential to the seamless operation of our rental department. You will assist the Ski/Snowboard Rental Manager in overseeing daily activities, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise in ski and snowboard equipment will be vital in ensuring that rentals are safe, well-maintained, and perfectly fitted for our guests. Often you will just need to stoke out the customer and chat about your epic day of skiing/boarding.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operational Support
- Assist the Rental Manager in daily shop operations, from equipment fitting and transactions to top-tier customer service
- Ensure smooth, accurate rental processes and help maintain high service standards
- Support the supervision and training of rental staff, reinforcing correct procedures
- Conduct gear checks to ensure safety and functionality
- Help manage stock: track repairs, monitor levels, and coordinate reorders
- Respond to guest issues professionally, resolving problems efficiently
- Uphold company policies and safety standards across all rental activities
Team Leadership
- Work closely with the Rental Manager to guide and motivate the rental team
- Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and performance oversight
- Help train and develop staff, encouraging continuous learning and improvement
- Give regular feedback and foster a culture of accountability and pride
- Promote a positive, team-focused work environment with open communication
Sales & Guest Service
- Support service training to ensure staff deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Help customers find the right gear and provide product and resort info
- Manage escalated guest issues with calm, solution-focused communication
Inventory & Gear Management
- Monitor equipment availability and support timely reordering
- Assist with audits, address discrepancies, and improve accuracy
- Support loss prevention efforts to reduce shrinkage
- Track staff gear use and clearly communicate guest-priority blackout periods
What You Need to Succeed
Leadership & Team Support
- Experience leading or supervising a small team in a rental or guest-facing environment
- Confident in training, giving feedback, and helping others grow
- Able to delegate tasks, track progress, and keep the team motivated during peak periods
Rental Operations & Guest Service
- Solid background in rental operations or customer-facing roles
- Comfortable guiding guests through the rental process with product knowledge and care
- Skilled in handling guest concerns and escalations with professionalism and composure
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Understanding of rental fleet management, stock levels, and basic ordering
- Familiar with gear maintenance, quality checks, and equipment tracking systems
- Organised approach to equipment presentation and floor readiness
Administration & Systems
- Comfortable using rental management software (experience with EasyRent a plus)
- Accurate with data entry, cash handling, and end-of-shift reporting
- Clear communicator across teams, with a proactive approach when things get busy
