About the Team

We are looking for a talented and experienced engineering leader to join our Consumer Group. You will build a development team accountable for the product delivery and in-life management of our B2B2C (API powering revolut, nordVPN, etc.) products. A talented team, eager to learn and experiment with new technologies. We value teamwork and embrace a culture of fully owning our deliverables, meaning we are both autonomous and accountable for them. Highly focused on our customers and determined to build and deliver a valuable proposition.  

About the Role

• Design and implement efficient and maintainable solutions, ensuring the best practices in software development.   

• Lead the development of robust, scalable, and high-performance micro-services architecture.   

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient backend solutions.   

• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the overall system design.   

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between different components of our platform while ensuring API security, performance, and reliability.   

• Design and optimize database schemes and work closely with the database administrators to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.   

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend systems and continuously optimize and improve the efficiency of existing code and systems.   

• Mentor team members when needed and contribute with meaningful reviews.  

About You

• 5+ years experience in java software development.  

• 2+ years engineering leadership experience.  

• Good understanding of system architecture, cloud services (AWS) and scalable infrastructure.  

• Experience with unit/integration/e2e testing (test driven development is a plus).  

• Proficiency with REST APIs, both in implementing and consuming the interfaces.  

• Solid experience with relational databases, CI/CD flows, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.  

• Excellent communication skills (fluent in English, both written and spoken), with a self-motivated and autonomous mindset.
