Job Description 

Position Title: Retail Assistant

Location: Niseko, Hakuba and Furano, Japan

Reports to: Retail Manager and/or Store Manager (in each location)
Contract Term: Exact dates TBC - October/November, 2026 - April 2027
Salary: ¥1,700 per hour, starting

The Role

As a Rhythm Japan Retail Assistant, you are a friendly expert in everything related to skis and snowboards. We sell everything snow related from outerwear, gloves and goggles to hard goods such as the latest and greatest skis, boards, binding and boots. It will be your job to inform and educate our customers on which gear is the most perfectly suited for them and their needs. Sometimes you will just need to stoke out the customer and chat about your epic day of skiing. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties 

• Help customers find products that suit their needs and deliver an outstanding in-store experience
• Provide accurate product information and confidently answer customer questions
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure merchandise is fully stocked and well-presented
• Keep shop floor and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with daily cleaning procedures
• Report stock discrepancies, damages, or issues to the Manager promptly
• Uphold high standards for product quality, customer service, and health and safety
• Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and empathetically
• Process returns and refunds in line with company policy
• Support the setup and execution of in-store promotions, displays, and events
• Complete end-of-morning and end-of-day procedures consistently and accurately
• Collaborate with team members and support other departments when needed
• Perform other duties as required to support the overall success of the store
