Barista (F&B Assistant)

Job Description 

Position Title: Barista | Food and Beverage Assistant 

Location: Niseko, Hakuba and Furano, Japan

Reports to: F&B Supervisor and/or Store Manager (in each location)
Contract Term: Exact dates TBC - October/November, 2026 - April 2027
Salary: ¥1,700 per hour, starting

The Role

Our Baristas are the heart and soul of our store. You will live and breathe coffee and you get to froth out our customers on a daily basis. Your role is to create delicious cups of caffeinated drinks alongside a variety of tasty treats. Whether it's an early morning pow day or at the end of a big day riding epic Japan pow, it will be your role to cater to the frothed customers who are stoked to be in Japan.

Key Responsibilities and Duties 

• Craft exceptional coffee beverages: Prepare a variety of espresso-based drinks and hot chocolate according to our high-quality standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep the coffee bar spotless, restock supplies, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Contribute to a positive team environment: Collaborate with colleagues to create a seamless coffee experience for our customers.
• Food Preparation and Handling: Prepare food items following hygienic processes. Restock food items throughout the day. Store food safely.

What You Need to Succeed 

• Experience in a customer-facing role; barista experience preferred, though a genuine passion for coffee is equally valued
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you naturally build rapport with guests
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Committed to cleanliness, organisation, and high service standards
• A quick learner who's open to feedback and keen to grow
• Latte art knowledge is a bonus, but exceptional guest service is the real must-have
