Reports to: Communication Manager
Contract Term: July 1st - initial 3-month contract, extended to 1-year
Salary: ¥450,000 per month, starting (DOE)

The Role
This is a new role at Rhythm Japan. Over the 20 years of Rhythm our marketing has evolved from very humble beginnings to what we have today. What’s incredible about the company's Marketing journey is that it has always been almost exclusively an in-house job, and Digital has been the core strategic pillar, and the main focus for paid advertising that has delivered growth and customers in the door.
Additionally, our social channels are highly followed and engaging because our content sets the benchmark for Japanese snow sports and leads the category across our resorts.
It’s no surprise that we are now at a point where we need an experienced, motivated and passionate Digital Executive to help us develop and implement our digital strategy, campaigns, and initiatives.
Sounds like a big role, but they’re not alone. The Digital Marketing Executive will work with the Senior Brand & Communication manager to put together the strategies, campaigns, content plans and briefs that will be handed to the media agency, creative team and content team for execution.
The Digital Marketing Executive will lead the implementation of all digital projects as outlined below from start to finish. They are the glue that brings stakeholders together when necessary and makes sure assets and campaigns get to their digital destination.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Media Management (Website, SEM & Meta)
- Manage Media Agency on the following
- Performance Marketing: Manage and optimize budgets on Google Ads (Search/Display) and Meta (FB/IG).
- Conversion Optimization: Monitor ROI/ROAS closely to ensure a low Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) for rental bookings.
- A/B Testing: Constantly test ad copy, creative assets, and landing pages to improve click-through and conversion rates.
- Retargeting: Develop sophisticated funnel strategies to capture users who engage with our content but haven't yet booked.
- Analytics & Reporting: monitor and collaborate with the agency on the performance dashboard.
- Manage Media Agency on the following
- Creative Asset delivery for Paid Digital
- Brief Comms & Creative for all assets needed for paid campaigns.
- Make sure deadlines for the agency are met and all creative is supplied in time.
- Check campaigns to make sure copy and visuals are correct.
- Work with agencies to evolve the creative strategy based on targeting.
- Website ownership Manage and own the content updates on the Rhythm website this includes:
- Briefing ALL changes for the JP site to internal JP resource
- Working with the Brand and Comms manager to ensure the website content is evolving and being kept up to date, and changed over seasonally.
- Working with the creative team to keep the visual identity of the website fresh. Brief them to consider new colours and ideas.
- Managing and briefing content required to build better and more meaningful content for our category pages.
- Work with internal departments to capture feedback and requirements (retail, store managers, rental & sales).
- Ensure content is captured and created by the content and creative team.
- Make sure that the new content is uploaded, tested and working.
- Working with marketing team on new functionality or templates that can evolve our content:
- Create briefs to go to the developer to build and implement these new templates.
- Working with the developer on all bugs that need to be addressed as they arise.
- Posting of Blogs and new content:
- Working with Brand & Comms Manager to ensure that all blogs and new content is posted and managed.
- Content & Social Media: Act as a back-up to the Content Manager to coordinate and post the social media content calendar.
What You Need to Succeed
1. Performance Marketing & Ad Platforms
- Google Ads Management: Experience managing Search (SEM) and Display campaigns, including budget optimization and keyword strategy.
- Meta Business Suite: Experience running paid social campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
- Performance Tracking: Ability to use and interpret performance dashboards from our agencies and provide the team / business with key insights to report campaign health, and opportunities for optimisation.
2. Website & CMS Management
- CMS Administration: Experience updating website content (on wordpress or similar), managing seasonal rollovers, and ensuring site functionality.
- Technical Briefing: Ability to write technical specifications and briefs for web developers to create new templates or fix site bugs.
4. Content & Creative Coordination
- Social Media Management Tools: Technical ability to coordinate, schedule, and post content across various social channels.
- Creative Asset Management: Experience managing the workflow of digital assets (images, videos, banners) from the briefing stage to live deployment.
5. Project Management
- End-to-End Campaign Execution: Skill in leading a digital project from the initial brief through to execution, monitoring, and final reporting.
