About this role

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. MCA is currently hiring a full-time one-on-one paraprofessional for the 2026-27 school year. Duties for this Paraprofessional include the ability to work constructively with the student, provide innovative and creative play, and the ability to resolve conflict. This position transitions and supervises the student from the classroom to the playground and monitors the student after school. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one assistance to the assigned student, ensuring engagement in academic activities, and managing student's behavior at all times.
  • Assist with classroom participation, task completion, and organization of materials.
  • Support the student's social-emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and appropriate behavior.
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or learning support services staff.
  • Model Christian values and demonstrate Christ-like character in all interactions.
  • Assist in integrating faith-based principles into the student's daily learning and activities.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher, learning support services team, and parents to implement learning plans.
  • Maintain open communication with teachers regarding student's progress and challenges.
  • Prepare daily activities and materials
  • Bi-annually renew CPR & First Aid training
  • Annually renew blood-borne pathogen and harassment training and any other trainings requested by administration
  • Follow MCA’s discipline policies and procedures, providing loving biblical conflict resolution
  • Allow student creativity in a controlled environment

 

Desired qualifications include experience working with students, social/emotional aptitude, adaptable and flexible, and good communication skills.
