ACC Southlands is a growing school community located in the beautiful city of Albany. There are approximately 330 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 on-campus with a further 700 students from Pre-primary to Year 12 in our Distance Education cohort. Although we are growing rapidly, we are focused on sustainably stewarding God’s creation and we have a heart that all students will be well known, well loved, and well taught. About the role

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced teachers with a passion for supporting students with diverse needs. This part-time role provides small group initiative for students with learning needs, working with teachers in supporting these students in their class, coming alongside the Learning Support team to ensure students are well supported and achieve success, and that all appropriate administration is completed. The applicant should have a passion for coming alongside students so that they are "well known, well loved, and well taught".

The position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for identity, rights to work in Australia, and child protection in accordance with CEM policy.

This part-time (0.4FTE) role is set to start as soon as is practicable.

About you

  • Have an active Christian faith.
  • Be able to display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Be able to receive feedback on your teaching and implement changes.
  • Be able to effectively plan for, collect and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes. 
  • Have suitable tertiary qualifications and TRBWA accreditation (or be eligible).
  • Experience with literacy and numeracy intervention for Y7-12.
  • Confident with technology & online learning (or readiness to learn).
  • Flexible problem-solver.
  • Willingness to engage 1:1 with students and families with an empathetic manner.
  • Work within a school leadership that has a clear Christian vision and a strong Christian culture
