As a Service & Maintenance Technician, you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for providing ongoing care and concierge-level service to the homes we’ve built and remodeled. You'll complete a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks — everything from touch-ups and warranty fixes to upgrades and specialty service visits — all while delivering a top-tier experience for our homeowners.

You’ll work in high-end residential settings where cleanliness, professionalism, and communication matter just as much as your technical skills. Your ability to assess needs, repair things around the home and communicate clearly with clients will be key in maintaining the Schmid & Rhodes reputation for excellence long after the "ribbon is cut."

What You’ll Do

• Perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance, repairs, and warranty service on homes built by Schmid & Rhodes and potentially others.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple trades — light carpentry, drywall, paint, hardware, basic plumbing, etc.
• Conduct pre-service assessments and ensure tools, materials, and workspace are prepped to protect each home and its finishes.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used; coordinate with office and field teams to track project updates.
• Represent the Schmid & Rhodes brand in clients’ homes — arrive on time, look polished, communicate clearly, and leave no trace but quality.
• Identify and report larger issues or future needs for the home, offering proactive suggestions that add value.
• Collaborate with the Service & Maintenance Superintendent and Project Admin team to schedule and prioritize work.
• Occasionally coordinate with subcontractors or vendors when specialty work is required.

What We’re Looking For

This is a role for a craftsperson who thrives with clients and working in the details. You’re comfortable working independently, confident in your craftsmanship, and courteous in every client interaction.

The ideal candidate:

• Has 3+ years of hands-on residential experience (general carpentry, finish work, light mechanical systems, etc).
• Takes immense pride in quality — you’d rather do it right once than rush it twice.
• Knows how to walk into a luxury home and immediately understand how to work cleanly, quietly, and respectfully.
• Can work from a punch list, troubleshoot issues, and communicate clearly with both clients and coworkers.
• Is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing schedules.
• Holds a valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation.
• Bonus: Experience working in interior trim carpentry and/or luxury residential construction
  

Other Details

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility as needed.
• Location: Walland, TN (near Blackberry Mountain) — primarily on job sites and client homes.
