The Position 

 

The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about taking technical material and content and teach it in such a way that entry level financial advisors are able to make a smooth transition into their new industry. If you have a teaching and learning background, this role is for you. You will also be someone who wants to make a definitive contribution to ensure that entry level financial advisors serving Southern African communities are able to guide their clients to make the right financial decisions.  This position is in the department of Financial Planning in the School of Financial Services.


Responsibilities

 

Teaching/Facilitation

  • Facilitation of lectures in-person.
  • Record class attendance on prescribed registers.
  • Support student learning during contact sessions.
  • Assist student with navigating the online learning environment.
  • Guide students in preparing for and submitting assessments.
  • Demonstrate a variety of facilitation techniques and tools mastery to effectively engage students.
  • Submit a written summary of each facilitation activity.
  • Share industry experience and contextualise theoretical content with real-world applications.


Customer Service

  • Foster and maintain student motivation.
  • Create and uphold a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Address academic queries and resolve disputes professionally.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Milpark management and staff.
  • Represent Milpark professionally and ethically at all onsite locations.
  • Demonstrate awareness of group dynamics and apply effective classroom management strategies.


Take accountability for own development

  • Continuously expand personal expertise and knowledge.


Additional requirements

  • This position requires frequent, consecutive travel to various provinces with limited time between trips.


Education and Experience requirements

  • A minimum NQF level 6 qualification in one of the following disciplines: Wealth Management or Financial Planning.
  • Must be able to speak, English and preferably any one of the following languages: Afrikaans, Venda, Sesotho, Tswana, Zulu or Xhosa.
  • Minimum 2 years’ industry related experience
  • Teaching or facilitation experience will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
