About Us

GroundTruth is looking for an Engineering Manager with strong expertise in designing and building hands-on customer-facing applications to join our Geo team.  The Geo Team is responsible for ingesting Geo data.  The Geo Team builds and develops APIs, manage POI data and provide processed data to integrate with our Ads Manager, Location Manager and Blueprint Manager platform which feed into how GroundTruth’s advertising creates Real Business Results.

As an Engineering Manager on our Geo Team, you will build solutions that add new capabilities to our platform.

You will:

  • Coach and mentor engineers—supporting growth in technical skills, ownership, and career progression
  • Partner with stakeholders and engineering leadership to evaluate, plan, and deliver API-first projects across advertising systems, services, and features
  • Drive transparency and alignment through documentation, structured processes, and clear cross-functional communication
  • Strengthen agile practices and continuously improve the team’s delivery predictability and maturity
  • Lead by example: write production-ready backend (and supporting frontend where needed) code, and ship via CI/CD on AWS
  • Support engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, quarterly reviews, recognition, time-off planning, training, and performance management when needed

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in technology (software development, architecture, or related areas)
  • Strong experience designing and building customer facing applications using Python REST APIs and FastAPI.
  • Hands-on Python experience building services and data pipelines
  • Experience with GIS, POI/Location data ingestion pipeline.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, GIS and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
  • Strong AWS experience: S3, EC2, EMR, ECS, Lambda (and related services)
  • Strong SQL skills for analytics and troubleshooting
  • Contribute ideas to improve the Geo location platform.
  • Experience with Airflow and Git
  • Proven track record of leveraging AI across the engineering process to drive modernization, improve developer effectiveness, and enhance software delivery outcomes.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI-native engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, and comparable platforms, with the ability to scale their use in a pragmatic, secure, and measurable way.
