Ngati Hine Health Trust is proud to provide Mental Health and Addictions services across Northland, delivering both Community and Residential treatment options. We are committed to supporting whānau to achieve optimal health and well-being through a Kaupapa Māori approach within a Whānau Ora framework.
We are seeking 2 passionate and skilled Clinicians to join our team in the Mid North/Kawakawa area. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality clinical care and therapeutic interventions for Youth aged 12-18 experiencing mental health and/or addiction challenges, including those with complex needs.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive clinical assessments and develop treatment plans that enhance whānau wellness.
- Deliver Kaupapa Māori-based community care services, integrating Whānau Ora principles.
- Walk alongside whānau through periods of challenge, ensuring support is accessible, culturally safe, and tailored to their needs.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in Kaupapa Māori services and youth AoD community care.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, and treatment.
- Competency in administrative systems and technology.
- Ability to engage confidently with whānau, communities, and youth.
Skills and Experience
- Registered DAPAANZ Practitioner, Registered Nurse, or Health Practitioner with AOD/Mental Health experience (or working towards registration).
- Strong networking ability
- Whānau Ora practice experience
- Confident in facilitating hui and engaging with whānau across diverse settings
- Excellent communication, coordination, and advocacy skills
- Knowledge of cultural models of practice (e.g. Te Whare Tapa Whā, whanaungatanga)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Cultural Competence & Tikanga
- Sound understanding of tikanga Māori
- Ability to confidently engage on marae
- Commitment to participating in NHHT tikanga practices including:
- Wānanga, haerenga, and cultural activities
- Daily karakia, kapa haka, and Te Reo Māori
- Ngāti Hine history, whakapapa, tikanga, and significant events
