About Us

For over 30 years, Ngāti Hine Health Trust has supported the wellbeing of whānau across Te Tai Tokerau. We deliver integrated services spanning health, education, social support, housing, justice, and Whānau Ora, with a strong presence across Kawakawa, Whangārei, Kaikohe, Pakaraka, Moerewa, and Kaeo.

About the Role

As a Kaiako, you will contribute to a nurturing and engaging learning environment grounded in kaupapa Māori values. You will support tamariki to develop confidence in their identity through the integration of Ngāti Hine whakapapa, te reo Māori, and tikanga into daily learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver culturally responsive learning experiences
  • Build strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
  • Support the holistic wellbeing and development of tamariki
  • Embed kaupapa Māori in teaching practice

About You

You are a motivated and culturally competent educator with a genuine commitment to tamariki Māori.

Requirements:

  • Level 7 teaching qualification (ECE or Primary)
  • Current or provisional Teaching Council practising certificate
  • Relevant experience in early childhood or education
  • Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori (or willingness to develop)
  • Ability to meet Children’s Act 2014 safety checking requirements
