As we continue expanding our brokerage operations in North America, our Sales team plays a critical role in building strong shipper relationships, growing freight volume, and strengthening CtrlChain’s position in the U.S. market.Â
The role
As a Freight Brokerage Sales Representative, you are responsible for building and growing a profitable book of business through proactive prospecting, shipper acquisition, and carrier coordination.Â
You will own the full brokerage sales cycle — from outbound outreach and qualification to rate negotiation, freight execution support, and account development. You will work closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure reliable service while consistently driving revenue and margin growth.Â
What you’ll doÂ
Build and grow a book of businessÂ
- Proactively identify and acquire new shipper customers through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn networking, and industry researchÂ
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunitiesÂ
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through first shipment and ongoing account growthÂ
- Develop long-term customer relationships and expand wallet share within existing accountsÂ
Drive revenue and margin growthÂ
- Negotiate competitive buy and sell rates with carriers and shippersÂ
- Manage freight opportunities with strong commercial awareness and margin disciplineÂ
- Support monthly revenue, load volume, and margin targets through consistent sales activityÂ
- Stay informed on market conditions, lane pricing, and competitor activityÂ
Source carrier capacity and support freight executionÂ
- Develop and maintain reliable carrier relationships across active lanesÂ
- Source carrier capacity proactively to support customer freight needsÂ
- Work closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure smooth shipment execution and service qualityÂ
- Help resolve freight issues quickly and professionally when neededÂ
Maintain pipeline discipline and market visibilityÂ
- Keep CRM activity, pipeline stages, and opportunity tracking accurate and up to dateÂ
- Follow up consistently on open opportunities and keep deals moving forwardÂ
- Provide commercial feedback and market intelligence to support pricing and growth strategiesÂ
- Represent CtrlChain professionally in all shipper and carrier interactionsÂ
Who You AreÂ
You are commercially driven, competitive, and motivated by building relationships and winning new business in a fast-paced freight environment.Â
You will thrive in this role if you:Â
- Have 2–4 years of freight brokerage or B2B sales experienceÂ
- Have a proven track record of building a book of business through outbound prospectingÂ
- Are comfortable making 50+ outbound calls per day consistentlyÂ
- Have experience negotiating freight rates in spot or contract freight environmentsÂ
- Understand U.S. freight markets, lane pricing, and carrier dynamicsÂ
- Have experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot or SalesforceÂ
- Are highly organized, self-directed, and proactiveÂ
- Build trust quickly with both shippers and carriersÂ
- Are motivated by uncapped commission tied to revenue growth and gross margin performanceÂ
