About this role

Clinical Intern — Graduate Field Placement

Roxbury, MA  |  Paid Internship  |  MSW · CMHC · MFT Programs

About The Osiris Group

The Osiris Group and the Osiris Family Institute exist to strengthen the Black family and resurrect the Black community through culturally competent, Afro-centric mental health care. We believe that cultural competence — truly understanding the perspectives, values, and lived experiences of Black and Latino communities — is the foundation of effective clinical work.

Our practitioners are dedicated to helping individuals and families live in the present, without allowing past hardships to become permanent barriers to mental wellness and growth. We do this by destigmatizing mental illness and delivering evidence-based therapies within a framework that honors culture, identity, and community.

Our culture is built on creativity, integrity, growth, and teamwork. Interns at Osiris don’t just complete field hours — they become part of a mission-driven clinical community and gain the experience, relationships, and skills to build a meaningful career in behavioral health.

Role Overview

Under the oversight of a licensed Clinical Supervisor, the Clinical Intern provides evidence-based mental health services to individuals, families, and children affected by trauma, grief, loss, and behavioral health challenges — primarily in community-based settings. Interns manage a small caseload of up to 5 clients and complete all responsibilities in alignment with their academic program’s field placement or practicum requirements.

This is a compensated field placement. Compensation details are provided upon interview.

Supervision & Learning Opportunities

What the internship provides:

  • Weekly individual supervision with your assigned Clinical Supervisor (LICSW or LMHC), conducted virtually via Google Meet
  • Monthly group supervision with fellow interns and clinical staff — building peer learning, reflective practice, and multidisciplinary perspective
  • Supervision aligned to your academic program’s competency requirements, supporting both field education hours and licensure-track goals
  • Exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration with clinicians, TT&S workers, DCF caseworkers, Family Partners, and community providers
  • Access to internal training and professional development opportunities throughout your placement
  • CANS certification support — Massachusetts CBHI CANS certification required; online training available prior to caseload assignment
  • Priority consideration for paid Clinician positions upon graduation for interns who demonstrate clinical readiness

Duties & Responsibilities:

All responsibilities are completed under clinical supervision and in alignment with internship requirements.

  • Support crisis response and risk management under supervision; respond to client emergencies as needed
  • Promote family engagement, self-advocacy, and skill-building using culturally responsive, family-driven, and CBHI/wraparound approaches

Collaboration & Care Coordination

  • Coordinate care with families, schools, providers, and external agencies (e.g., DMH, DCF, DYS, DPH, MCI) and support access to community resources
  • Participate in care planning meetings, including Intensive Care Coordination processes where applicable
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors and the site (email and voicemail) and provide timely updates on case progress

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation — including progress notes (DAP format), treatment plans, and contact logs — in the electronic health record, in compliance with agency, billing, and academic requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA confidentiality requirements
  • Adhere to provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 119, Section 51A (Mandated Reporter); report all reportable
