About this role

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a refinery environment. This role ensures optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on HVAC units, including cleaning, inspection, and component replacement.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues.
  • Troubleshoot faults in HVAC controls, sensors, and automation systems.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Handle and recover refrigerants in accordance with environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and team members regarding work performed, issues found, and recommended solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Trade qualified Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent).
  • Or trade qualified Electrician with HVAC experience
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and controls.
  • Current driver’s licence.

Desirable

  • Additional certifications (e.g., EWP, Working at Heights).
  • Experience in commercial or industrial HVAC environments.
