Development Team Lead - Limassol or Barcelona

Location: Limassol or Barcelona 

At OQtima, we’re expanding, and we need passionate and professional individuals to join our growing in-house Technology team! 

The Role
Lead a small, capable team (DevOps, QA, Full-Stack Engineer) to keep our platforms secure, available, and evolving using ReactJS, GatsbyJS, Typescript,NestJS and NodeJS (and/or other programming languages as needed). This is a hands-on development leadership role focused on delivery coordination across in-house work and targeted vendors. You’ll also be required to engage in pragmatic AI/automation to boost reliability, developer productivity, and support efficiency.

Key Project
Maintain, enhance and improve existing websites, client area, CRM and CI/CD to accommodate growing business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Own the IT websites Development strategy & roadmap and report progress to the CEO.
• Oversee the CI/CD pipeline & release cadence; coordinate delivery with the internal development team and vendors.
• Plan and supervise enhancements (and targeted refactors where needed) to the websites, client area, CRM, and supporting services.
• Oversee continuous automation and maintenance of our AWS based environments (development, UAT and production systems)
• Evaluating of new website technologies, tools and development principles
• Ai Enablement (huge plus): Identify, pilot, and roll out AI-driven tooling across ops and delivery (e.g., incident summarization, log analysis, change-risk checks, CI/CD guardrails, code review assistants, documentation generation, Tier-1 support chatbots). Define light AI governance (data access, privacy, model usage), track adoption and ROI, and train the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluency in English language, both written and verbal
• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of experience working with an online-first business (Forex, Gaming, e-commerce etc.) as a DevOps engineer
• Proven website development management (ops-focused) experience with hands-on depth.
• Comfortable leading DevOps/QA/Full-Stack and coordinating outsourced backend
• Deep knowledge of Development practices and CI/CD principles
• Experience with multi-tier architectures: caching, web servers, app servers, load balancers, databases, networking
• Experience with Github and version control, SaaS deployment tools and Cloud solutions
• Strong understanding of source code management
• Huge plus: Hands-on experience with modern AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot/CodeWhisperer, M365/Atlassian AI, Azure/OpenAI services), scripting to integrate tools (PowerShell/Python), solid prompt-writing; familiarity with patterns like RAG and responsible AI practices.

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in Customer Area development will be considered an advantage
• Previous experience in financial or gaming industry will be considered an advantage
