Assistant Camp Manager

MATRIX Camps, Logistics & Aviation is seeking Assistant Camp Managers for rotational positions at remote project sites across Canada. This role is ideal for a motivated, adaptable individual who thrives in a team-focused environment and demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Work is based in remote camp settings with varying and often challenging weather conditions. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site and adapt to camp locations that shift depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Camp Manager in overseeing daily camp operations to ensure accommodations, facilities, and services run efficiently
• Assist with the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of incinerators, PACTO toilets, water filtration systems, and waste management processes
• Help troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on electrical, plumbing, generator, and water systems as needed
• Collaborate closely with the culinary team to coordinate inventory, track supplies, and ensure consistent delivery of camp resources
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the Camp Manager’s absence, maintaining high operational standards

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in camp operations, facilities maintenance, or remote site environments
• Familiarity with camp infrastructure including incinerators, generators, PACTO toilets, and utility systems
• Strong practical maintenance abilities and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote conditions
• Valid First Aid certification, WHMIS, and Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) required

• Competitive daily rate: $350 – $425/day, based on skills and experience
